to those who are from melbourne or have worked in melbourne
i would like ot let you know that michael maas (south suburban towing ) passed away last tuesday.

as most people would know he was a pioneer in the towing industry in melb, some loved him others didnt
but what ever you thought he was a good man underneath he woudl help most people

rest in peace michael.

didn't know him saw one of their old cradles going down the tulla on the back of a truck.
I think it was sold on ebay

r.i.p fatty maas only met him once heard alot about him they say that he was a colourful character in his day.

Much of the same as most others here as didnt know Michael (but R.I.P) as only new but come to think of it I did see a Suburban cradle truck on the back of another HTT semi on Friday going down Eastlink and know of another towie that went to the funeral.

Yep, and I was called to quote the job, obviously I must have been too dear... :roll:
Anyway R.I.P fatty Maars, met him a few times, suburban towing got bought out by Shift Towing in Campbellfield...

Thank's Jack for all your help mate. In regards to the isuzu cradle, the buyer arranged
quick tow to move it dont no why but anyway'z tried my hardest to get the job for ya.
Big Mick was a great bloke and a good friend He will be dearly Missed R.I.P MR MAAS....

well as they say better late than never , as i have only just recently heard about fattys death from my son living in melbourne. i think i knew fatty better than anybody as i worked for him and run the buisness for him when he was sick after a burst ulser. he is the only person i knew that could ripp you off but you would walk out of his office smiling.
to peggy and the kids my sincere condolances.

and rest assured he will be plying his same trade and methods where he is now.

Only got to know him in the last year. Could never get out of his office quickly! Treated me like he had known me for years from the time we met. A gentleman.
